Wellbeing
We all know when we are worried upset or anxious how it impacts us as adults. But take time to stop and think about how our children are feeling, is there any difference? Some time back Jackie was involved in the EEYC up to threes research group looking at the characteristics of wellbeing in children aged 1-3 years.
Some of the chacteristics of low wellbeing are
- Fearful
- Angry
- Clingy
- Disengages
- Anxious
- Seeking Reassurance
- Tantrums
Children experiencing transition may temporarily exhibit characteristics of low well being until they have been able to process and cope with the changes
Example of transitions
- New baby
- Moving home Bereavement
- Family illness
- Some characteristics of high wellbeing
- Curious
- Comfortable
- Happy
- Responsive
- Positive
- Helpful
